18 June 2018South African botanical ingredient supplier, Zuplex has recently launched its new product range which includes several exciting and innovative botanical extracts primarily aimed at the local and international cosmetics industry.
Zuplex was established to add value to unique and established botanicals through the manufacture of standardised extracts using innovative technologies. It is vertically integrated and offers services from cultivation to the final preparation of extracts and through direct shareholding by a community trust, Zuplex has an established cultivation site and a new extraction facility.
All Zuplex’s new products have undergone independent efficacy testing in Europe and are supported by comprehensive dossiers. This is significant for local formulators and manufacturers who will now have the option to use locally sourced botanical ingredients that are internationally recognised but at affordable prices, without the additional expense of transport and import duties.
The company’s new range targets several common skin conditions including:
- Ageing
- Dry dull skin
- Wrinkles
- Skin redness
- Inflammation
- Puffiness
- Pore size
Atriclear
A natural botanical extract sourced from the herbaceous shrub Athrixia phylicoides. It has been clinically tested to refine and improve skin texture by reducing pore apertures, whilst firming and toning the skin leaving it soothed and feeling smoother. It was also shortlisted for an in-cosmetics Global Green Ingredient Award.
Myravive
Derived from the leaf of the Myrothamnus flabellifolius plant also known as the ‘Resurrection Plant’, which appears to die completely during drought times, however after rain the plant resurrects itself with the leaves becoming lush and green again. This miraculous ability to rehydrate and revive itself has inspired its use in cosmetics as an anti-ageing agent for skin hydration, firmness, smoothness and elasticity as well as to reduce wrinkle depth.
Miramor
Extracted of the leaves of the Moringa or ‘Miracle’ Tree. It assists with reducing trans-epidermal water loss helping increase skin hydration. It also reduces skin roughness, wrinkles and scaliness as well as revitalising the skin to reveal a younger and healthier appearance. Additionally, Miramor minimises the effect of blue light and UV pollution on the skin which leads to oxidative stress.
Rosacalm
A targeted extract of the African botanical Harpagophytum procumbens or ‘Devil’s Claw’. Modern environmental conditions with prevalent atmospheric pollution, extreme weather patterns and stressed lifestyles can result in damaged, distressed skin. Rosacalm is targeted at relieving skin redness, inflammation and puffiness and restoring youthful vital skin.
Bao-Active C
As the name indicates is derived from the pulp of the baobab fruit from the revered Baobab Tree. This extract has pronounced anti-oxidant properties while the complex set of additional nutrients promotes rapid and sustained cell regeneration. It has been used for thousands of years to recharge and revive the skin. The high levels of Vitamin C in baobab fruit provide a natural way to treat and prevent skin wrinkles associated with photo-ageing.
