How to use the BASF product finder

The BASF Product Finder is an application specifically designed for finding a suitable active ingredient, not to be confused with BASF’s “Quick Finder” which only searches the Care Creations website.

With this app, BASF’s high-performance active ingredients are always right at your fingertips. The straightforward platform runs on desktop PCs, tablets as well as on smartphones. It offers a comprehensive list of active ingredients, with all the information you need on consumer benefits, eligibility for eco-labels, applications and active substances. You can also filter for detailed scientific test criteria or special features.

The app gives you direct access to innovation platforms for actives, along with detailed product information and scientific findings, as well as certificates, safety data sheets and additional downloads.

One of the best parts is that to use the search functions of the BCS Product Finder, no specific access rights are required! To use the BASF product finder follow the steps below.

Step 1:

Go to the BASF product finder page by clicking here or typing in the page URL link: https://www.carecreations.basf.com/product-formulations/tools/actives-product-finder

Step 2:

Decide if you want to search Products or Plant and Extracts.

If you clicked on Products:

By clicking on Products, you are taken to a page that lists all of BASF’s available actives.

Once in the Products page, you have the option to search for a specific function as well as narrow down the search by selecting the action if the active or the nature of the active.

By filtering by action, you are given the following options:

• Consumer Benefit
• Scientific Concept
• Age of Volunteers
• Tested Skin Area
• Results Time Scale
• Target Molecules in the Skin
• Application
• Special Formulation Features

Filtering by nature gives you the following options:

• Geography
• Origin
• Active Substance / Technology
• Compliance
• Natural Label

Each of the above filtering selections gives you a further break down to help you narrow down your search for the ideal product.

If you clicked on Plants and Extracts:

Clicking on Plants and Extracts takes you to a page where all the plants and extracts that they use in Beauty Creations actives are listed with the active that they are used in.

The first drop-down menu allows you to arrange the first coulomb into alphabetical order. The second drop-down menu allows you to choose the plant name language.
